Introduction
Susannah Valley is located 25km from the Central Business District of Perth, Capital City of Western Australia. The valley possesses high conservation values and is home to an extraordinary diversity of plants and animals. It is also an important place for Nyungah People. Burial grounds, rock art, caves, sacred ochre deposits, bush tucker and crystal quartz tools demonstrate an ancient and continuing link to Aboriginal culture. The carved motifs, balancing boulders and natural features in this hidden valley connect present day Perth with one of the oldest living traditions on earth: the Spiritual Dreaming of the Swan River People.
This sacred valley is currently under threat by mining companies, big business and a state government that has neglected its duty to protect heritage and the environment.[1] Please help us to let the world know that priceless heritage and biodiversity is more important than short-term corporate profits.
